EcoElf is all about creating beautiful eco-friendly clothing with organic natural or recycled fabrics to help protect the wonderful nature on our planet 🙂
EcoElf stands for handmade, eco-friendly, fair trade clothing made using natural organic materials or recycled fabrics with the aim to create beautiful clothing made of what Mother Earth gave us.
The commercial textiles industry is not only very harmful to the environment but also disrespects human rights. I am trying to provide people with an alternative. It has always been my dream to make clothing, from the age of 3 or 4 when I drew my mum in long dresses and told her that one day I would make one for her. I was always experimenting with making clothes and then went to study Textiles Technology at school in England for 2 years. I then studied Fashion Design at university but quit after less than a year. I didn´t agree with many aspects of the fashion industry and my tutors at university were not interested in my idea of using of natural, ecological fabrics. I then went on to study Modern Languages and graduated this summer. In between I went on a long trip to South America and was inspired by the artesanos (street artists) there. I started making jewellery when I got back to the UK and started selling on Etsy in my shop „Enchanted Forest Magic“. After searching for eco-friendly clothing to wear in the winter and failing to find anything that was not boring or super expensive, I realised that this was my calling. So now, here I am, in the middle of setting up as self-employed here in Germany where I now live. I am half German and have wanted to move back to Germany for a while and now I am happy to say that I live in the beautiful black forest in the south of Germany.
I have got my brand new sewing and embroidery machines set up and have started making clothes with wonderful GOTS certified organic materials and recycled fabrics or second hand clothing. I have changed the name of my shop to EcoElf as I will be creating ecological/eco-friendly fantasy clothes, inspired by elves, fairies and other fantastical creatures 😉
I am still busy with moving house, and will be at Boom Festival in Portugal next week, so I will need a few more weeks to get everything properly set up and then I can finally start listing items again in my Etsy shop 🙂
Love and elvishness
